What Version of Windows do I Have

Ever wonder what version of Windows your using, A few people have asked lately how do I tell what version of Windows do I have, or do I need to install the latest Service Pack. Here is an easy way to find out.

  1. Click the Start Orb.
  2. Type Run in the search box and press enter.
  3. In the Run dialog box type winver and press OK.

An About Windows popup will display your version information.

      DON’T FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS!! Line #2 in the instructions above shut Windows down for me.

      Did I mention that I had wriiten three carefully worded paragraphs on a web form that were unsavable and were wiped out as I tried to retrieve what version of Windows I was running.
