- 6 Comment
I’ve deleted my Show Desktop Icon quite a few times by accident maybe you have too so today’s tip will show you how to get it back.
- Right click an empty spot on your desktop and choose new > text document.
- Copy and paste this text into the new document.[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop - Name the file Show Desktop.scf and save it to your desktop.
- Drag the resulting new Icon back to your Quick launch Bar.

If you can’t see the Show Desktop icon, try displaying more of the Quick Launch toolbar by clicking the double chevron icon . If that doesn’t work, you might need to add the Quick Launch toolbar by right-clicking an empty area on the taskbar, pointing to Toolbars, and then clicking Quick Launch so that it has a check mark next to it.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for the tip.
I have done as per your instruction and I got the Show Desktop Icon.
I have dragged and dropped the icon in the quick launch bar.
But, when I click on the icon nothing happens. The icon does not work. It is not showing the desktop.Please advice.
Thanks…
