Hello there – I read your post with interest and a sigh of relief because my son is distraught at not having Pinball on our new PC (Vista operating system).
There was one post with the same problem, that of the WAVMIX.INF missing. You emailed the required files to Chris around the 2nd November 2008 so can you do the same for me please?
I have tried the new zip link and I’m still getting the same error message. I’ve also tried the http://drop.io/Vistapinball link but the download limit has been reached.

i had pinball on windows xp. LOVED IT! miss it now that i have vista!!!

so i just followed the instructions here:
clicked on the link, downloaded the pinball file, pasted it into the vista games folder, and inside the pinball folder, there’s an icon that opens the game, so i just copied that icon (the silver pinball by itself) on the games tab in the start menu.

simple. back in action!!

Regarding Space Cadet, my computer uses XP and somehow, I’ve lost Space Cadet, which is the only game I play.

Having the same problem myself. Only way I can get it to run is by right-clicking the exe and choose ‘Run as Administrator’.

I know cheat is when you sse the ball tipe hidden test whth a space
then right click and you can move the ball

For those getting an error message when they put the Pinball exe file into the games folder on the start menu,
just right click it and click pin to start menu. Then drag the icon that’s been created in the start menu into the games folder. It basically just creates a shortcut, which is all that is required

I got it sorted! For anyone else who has this problem all I did was right click on the blue graphics icon near to the time in the bottom right hand corner, Go along the ‘Graphics Options’ arrow then ‘Panel Fit’ and select Full Screen (No Border) and it works fine, nice and big

Hey Kevin, nice site

I downloaded pinball and it worked great and then now when i press f4 for full screen it goes to full screen but the actaul game just stays the same size in the middle of the screen.

I have vista and a 17 inch moniter on my laptop – do I need to change any settings to allow it to play at the right size?

@ Carly, It sound like a video card problem, The first thing you should do is make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed, many times that will fix the problem.

The 2nd issue I mentioned doesn’t seem to be related to the pinball issue, althoughthe wavemix file was involved…I’m getting lots of text & files which have been previously cut/copied/pasted appearing randomly in Word docs. Strange! Might be the “trial” version of MS Office I’m using causing that… Again thanks for looking into the pinball issue for me! Chris

Just a note – my mom was working on a word document this morning when she told me there was something strange appearing on the screen…it was an icon of that WAVEMIX.INF file, as if it had been pasted onto her document. It freaked me out! I right-clicked it and deleted it from her document, but am very, very puzzled!! Chris

Hi! I followed the instructions to move Space Cadet Pinball folder from my XP pc to my Vista pc. When I click Pinball from my Vista Start menu, I get an error: “WAVEMIX.INF is missing – it must be in the pinball directory!”, although that file IS in the pinball directory.
