Change IE 7 Default Downloads Settings To Allow More Simultaneous Downloads

By default IE7 will only allow you to download 2 files at a time. To change that setting you have to edit the Registry. (Note: always backup the Registry first by creating a restore point)

1. Click on the Start Orb and type Regedit in the Search Bar.
2. Click Regedit at the top of the search results under programs.
3. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings.
4. Right click in the empty space in the right pane, and create a new DWord (32-bit) New > DWord Value . Name it: MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server
5. Double click this entry and modify the value to 10.
6. Now we need to create another DWord like above. Right click in the empty space in the right pane, and create a new DWord (32-bit) New > DWord Value . Name it: MaxConnectionsPerServer
7. Double click this entry and modify the value to 10.
8. Close the registry editor.

Close IE if you have it open and restart it. Now you can have a max number of 10 simultaneous downloads.
