Change IE 7 Default Downloads Settings To Allow More Simultaneous Downloads
- 0 Comments
By default IE7 will only allow you to download 2 files at a time. To change that setting you have to edit the Registry. (Note: always backup the Registry first by creating a restore point)
- Click on the Start Orb and type Regedit in the Search Bar.
- Click Regedit at the top of the search results under programs.
- Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings.
- Right click in the empty space in the right pane, and create a new DWord (32-bit) New > DWord Value . Name it: MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server
- Double click this entry and modify the value to 10.
- Now we need to create another DWord like above. Right click in the empty space in the right pane, and create a new DWord (32-bit) New > DWord Value . Name it: MaxConnectionsPerServer
- Double click this entry and modify the value to 10.
- Close the registry editor.
Close IE if you have it open and restart it. Now you can have a max number of 10 simultaneous downloads.
