Shave Seconds Off Vista’s Boot Time

Vista waits for 30 seconds at startup before loading the operating system, but you can adjust that down to 5 seconds to get working faster. Here’s how.

1. Click the Windows Start Orb.
2. Right click Computer.
3. Click Properties.
4. Approve the UAC if prompted
5. Click Advanced System settings.
6. In the Advanced Tab, Start and Recovery, click Settings.
7. In the Time to display list of operating systems, set a 5 second value instead of 30.
8. Click Ok.

Now reboot and enjoy.
